7 Reasons Guys are Obsessed with Anal Sex

Porn star Asa Akira once tweeted "ass is the new pussy" and it seems we've reached a point in our culture where anal sex is considered a staple of our sexual repertoires. Porn is often blamed for the popularity of anal sex but it was over a decade ago that Charlotte confessed to performing it on Sex and the City which lifted the veil from this taboo subject for many women.

Adult Match Maker's "Under the Covers" Sex Survey revealed that 69% of men and 45% of women fantasise about anal sex. Pornhub insights for 2015 reveal that anal sex came in at #12 for most searched terms and #9 in the most viewed categories. 

The results of the Australian Study of Health and Relationships conducted by La Trobe University in Melbourne which were released in 2014 found that 25% of Aussie men and 19% of Aussie women reported having anal sex and that those in the 20-39 year old age bracket were more likely to have anal sex. 

So why do we seem to be so obsessed with it and why do men want to try it?

1. It feels totally different to vaginal sex

The mere fact that the world's biggest selling masturbation toy for men, Fleshlight, gives you a "butt" option tells you there's something different about it. Regardless of how many kegel exercises you do, your arse will be tighter, and the ridges and configurations are different. So it's like eating lasagne when you've been on a carb-free diet!

When I was at University, a lot of girls I slept with had no issues with Anal sex - may be they were more eager, flexible, etc. However, the key was to make sure she actually enjoyed the experience, in most cases they had orgasms because I had free and easy access to their clitoris during anal sex.       There might be a correlation between older women less inclined to initiate anal and the cosmetic health of their arseholes.     I find the title of this article a little misleading . My own ( admittedly limited ) experiences with anal sex have always been entirely at my partners insistence , not mine . My own preference will always be to enjoy a delightfully wet and willing vagina .
