Get a room! Aussie Love Hotels coming to a city near you!
So you need a hotel room for a few hours? Perhaps you have a long layover between flights but it's not long enough to enjoy the benefits of an overnight price tag; you want to entertain a business client and talk privately; or the wifi at Gloria Jean's was slow and you need total quiet and no interruptions to finish that report. Sure, we believe you!
In Vietnam they are called Nha Nghis, in Japan they are referred to as Love Hotels - and it looks like the concept will be in Australia shortly!
Lovers of the world rejoice!
Dayuse.com launched recently in Europe and with a tag line of ‘la discretion’ it doesn't appear that insomniacs or travellers are their target market.
Whether you need a hotel room away from prying eyes or a sexy location for an illicit encounter it beats paying full rate.
Hotels worldwide have been experiencing low occupancy rates due to home stay sites such as Airbnb. Many major hotels have already started to offer "Day Use" pricing to fill their rooms during quiet times but the advantage of Dayuse is that it consolidates the information into a single database to make it easier to find that perfect rendezvous location. They list only boutique hotels and typically there is a saving of 30-70% to reserve the room for a few hours only and don't require your credit card to book. Yeah, they're definitely targeting travellers!
It makes perfect sense that the idea originated in Paris - the city of love - where it's the norm for businessmen to visit their mistresses in their garconniere on the way home from the office. Parisiennes even have a name for it - cinq-a-sept (the five-to-seven) where faithless spouses are home in time for dinner.
Already servicing the needs of lovers in France and selection locations around Europe, Dayuse.com.au is already registered so it looks like horny Aussies looking for a hotel room to indulge in some afternoon delight will be able to access the service in the near future.

More than a month agoGreat idea...will look out for this. Especially great for married men who don't have a place to play.

More than a month agoGreat idea - I have a regular playmate who can only play in the late mornings - most hotels suddenly have reserved check in after 2pm which means a 2 night booking for a couple of hours - expensive and sometimes impractical as commitments can change quickly....

More than a month agoGreat idea! Give customers what they want. I'm sure some better class hotels would do quite well if they offered this service.

More than a month agoThere is one very sleazy one on Pitt Street in the city (Sydney), but there is an enormous business opportunity for a few better class places across the greater metropolitan area, for rendezvous of all kinds...singles, couples meeting other couples, threesomes, etc.
ReplyThere is also an opening for an established motel to convert some of its rooms to themed suites, with the implicit understanding they might be used for small private swinging parties. There's one in southern California with some great themes that I visited many years ago, though I'm not sure if they countenance the sort of naughty behaviour some of us AMM members like to indulge in!

More than a month agoJust Google "day use" as part of your hotel search and some already offer it. The actual Dayuse website hasn't launched in Australia yet.

More than a month agoIf you get off work and five and don't come home until seven, you are a perfect husband gone wrong. Two hours makes all the difference, even one.
